The purpose of this class is to teach students the oil painting process, the importance of values, the benefits of a limited color palette, the value of chromatic grays and how to create the illusion of space and 3-dimensionality.

By the end of the class the students will have at least four completed paintings.

This painting class will take place over five sessions. Each session will build upon the previous one so that students end with a strong knowledge of how to use oil paints to achieve illusions of 3-dimensionality, space atmosphere and pleasing composition.

Painting will be done from photographs and from live objects.
