Description This painting workshop is for artists who typically paint on a smaller scale and find the idea of working on a large canvas intimidating. Expanding the scale of your work offers opportunities to incorporate depth and nuance into your creative practice. We will cover materials and techniques unique to painting big and focus on the milestones and challenges that are inherent in working on a larger surface.

3 ft x 4 ft or larger stretched and primed

PAINT

Acrylic or water-based oil paint tubes

Brand of your choice

PALETTE

Cadmium Yellow Light (cool yellow)

Cadmium Red Light (warm red)

Alizarin Crimson (cool red)

Ultramarine Blue (violet blue)

Dioxazine Purple (violet)

Cerulean Blue or Phthalo Blue (green blue, dark)

Viridian Green (cool green, middle value)

Burnt and Raw Umber

Black

BRUSHES

Bristle or synthetic paint brushes

Medium to large rounds, flats. Filberts
