This course will introduce intaglio printing, commonly nown as etching, using plastic and copper plates. Intaglio means "beneath the surface" and describes any method in which drawn lines are etched or carved. Make your own prints starting from the first session using plastic sheeting as a substrate and move on to etching copper plates, learning several methods of creating line, texture and value. You will use images from your own drawings, reproduced as desired.
